For the 14th year, I’m once again taking up my pen to write this anniversary post with the aim of sharing the evolution of WPMarmite and its key stats.

2025 will be a pivotal year for WPMarmite. Indeed, with our change of direction, the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI), and ongoing automation, we have our work cut out for us!

These upheavals can be intimidating, but I’m convinced that there are more opportunities out there. It’s up to us to adapt and seize them (rather than watch the competition rush in!).

Having set the scene, let me give you an overview of what I’ll share in this article:

  • The highlights of 2024 and our ambitions for 2025
  • WPMarmite’s figures in full transparency

Sound good? Then let’s get started!

The year 2024 for WPMarmite

If you missed it, you can read WPMarmite’s 2024 year in review published at the beginning of January. In that post, I reflected on what happened during the previous year, looking at:

  • Our free and premium content
  • International development
  • Our network of sites
  • Team development

To sum up the situation in a few words, we explored several avenues to find a more sustainable model.

I realized that coaching wasn’t for us. It doesn’t fit in with our SEO-oriented DNA.

We then launched WordPress site templates, followed by a payment plugin.

It took a lot of energy, but it paid off. We now know what will drive us in 2025: the development of WPMarmite Start, our preconfigured WordPress site templates (currently available in French only).

I described this shift in more detail in my Youtube series, “Objective $100k/month” (in French).

I know that not everyone is comfortable setting their business direction based on revenue objectives, but we can’t ignore what’s plainly in front of our nose.

WPMarmite is a business. To bring you all this content, we need an ace team, which requires a certain minimum of resources. Hence this ambition.

Here are WPMarmite’s goals for 2025:

  • Focus on WPMarmite Start
    • WordPress site templates
    • Partner with service providers (for more complex projects)
  • Generate 100 sales per month
  • Consolidate our team (sales and production divisions)
  • New collaborations for WPMarmite
  • Relaunch our network sites
  • Reach $50k in monthly sales (first milestone before reaching $100k)

In short, we’ll be doing all we can to promote WPMarmite Start, to help site creators and project owners get started in the best possible conditions.

Stats for 2024

WPMarmite has been in the red for 3 years now. It stings but we’re still here. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.🫸🤛

Here’s what it’s looked like since our launch:

A graph shows WPMarmite's sales and revenue from 2012 to 2024.

By the way, be careful with the numbers you see on the internet. Sales (in yellow on the graph) are not same thing as profit, shown on the graph in brown (there are charges along the way, especially in France 🤡).

More seriously, I’ve already mentioned this, but it took us a long time to find our new model.

What’s more, we haven’t had the best accounting support for several years. Expenses have tended to soar.

However, we’ve found a top firm! With more rigorous management, the new financial year will finally see a return to profit. 😎

Now for the statistics:

  • Traffic (from January 1 to December 31)
    • 1 million visits (sessions)
    • 0.9 million unique visitors
    • 1.4 million page views
    • 1 min 34 sec on average per visit
  • Community
    • 20k subscribers to the newsletter (following a cleanup of the list)
    • 71k subscribers to the Youtube channel
    • 6.3 subscribers on Instagram
    • 7.3 subscribers on X (Twitter)
    • 19k subscribers on Facebook
  • Income (from January 1 to December 31)
    • $281k in revenue
    • Ratio of products/affiliation/sponsorships: 54/34/12

Note: I’m sharing the figures for 2024, but in reality, the company’s accounting year runs from April 1 to March 31. The amounts above will therefore vary from what I share elsewhere (on the graph above, for example).

Blowing out the 14 candles for WPMarmite

When you’re 14, you’re in the throes of adolescence. You tend to rebel and act a little wild (as we saw in the previous section ^^).

And so we come to the end of this anniversary article. I hope I’ve shared enough information to help you better understand what goes on behind the scenes at WPMarmite.

I say it every time, but thank you for your trust and loyalty over the years!

PS: Do you like WPMarmite and want to support us? Tell us what we’ve been able to do for you by sharing a review on Google or TrustPilot. A link from your site to your favorite content would also be a great gift. 💝
