Less than a year after the arrival of BeautifulPress, it’s time to introduce you to the latest: WPTurbo.

The whole team can confirm it, I can’t stop talking about this project. It has been haunting me for months..

I did my best to push back the deadline but time was running out. We had to launch this new website to fulfil the objectives set at the beginning of the year.

After many adventures (including an ordeal to find the name), I can finally present you WPTurbo.

Your best WordPress projects need the best host!

WPMarmite recommends Bluehost: great performance, great support. All you need for a great start.

WPTurbo, a website to help WordPress developers

As the name suggests, the goal of this website is to help create WordPress websites faster.

However, it is not intended for the general public but for developers (or apprentice developers).

When you create a custom website, you must base it on code that respects the best practices of WordPress.

You don’t want to start off with a bang and reinvent the wheel. WordPress has resources, and often, solutions exist. It’s just a matter of taking the right approach.

With WPTurbo, the main idea is to provide code generators to create custom WordPress websites.

Need to add a new content type? Create a widget for the dashboard? Or create a settings page for a plugin?

No problem, with the right generator, everything is possible. There are more than 40 available to help you with your projects! Including generators for WooCommerce and Elementor (others will come soon).

Eventually, the goal is to offer a range of tools and resources for WordPress developers (we’ve actually started writing development-oriented articles on the WPTurbo blog).

The genesis of WPTurbo

For the record, even before BeautifulPress was launched, I contacted the owners of an old blog dedicated to WordPress development.

It had very good SEO metrics, it would have been the perfect companion for WPMarmite.

The founders were busy with their new projects and hadn’t updated it in years. There was a lot of potential.

They were interested in my takeover proposal, we talked about a price and… radio silence! 😂

Did I make a mistake? Did I show too much interest? Did they have other things to worry about? Or did they prefer to keep the blog to relaunch it?

I have no idea.

All I know is that nothing has moved on this website since. It’s a shame but I wasn’t going to wait forever.

Also before the launch of BeautifulPress, I talked to the founder of another website dedicated to WordPress development that hadn’t been updated in ages.

The latter was open to a transfer but under certain conditions, including the fact of not distorting the initial website by putting ads everywhere.

It was not my intention but I understood his mistrust. If someone wanted to buy WPMarmite one day, I would have the same fears.

It must be heartbreaking to see one’s “baby” being denatured.

Still, it didn’t happen. And between you and me, I think the price would have been way too high given the reputation of the website (I won’t give another clue about the website in question!).

Anyway, another failure!

After these two failures, I put this idea of a website for WP developers aside to launch BeautifulPress. However, having such a website was still torturing my mind.

I had a very precise idea of what would be on this website but only one thing prevented us from launching it: the name!

Yes, finding a domain name is not easy. Either the name is already taken, or it costs a fortune, or the name is not really a brand (composed of keywords for example)…

However, a few months later… it was enlightenment!

It will be WPTurbo!

The name evokes WordPress and speed, it is also short and memorable.

That’s it, we can get the ball rolling. 💪

Another new website! Why?

That’s right. Why invest time in designing a new website when WPMarmite can be developed in so many ways?

Some of the reasons stated below will be similar to those mentioned for BeautifulPress, but let’s go over them quickly.

1. Expanding the WPMarmite network

When a fleet goes to war, it doesn’t just consist of an aircraft carrier. Because if your opponent manages to neutralize it, you end up in your underwear.

The same is true for WPMarmite. To emerge on the international scene, you have to work in a network. And not put all your eggs in one basket.

Moreover, it would be complicated to put everything that is covered on WPMarmite, BeautifulPress and WPTurbo into one website.

While WordPress is the common thread, the targets are different. Beginner web designers, freelancers, graphic designers and developers have different interests.

So creating different websites to address these audiences makes sense.

2. Keep experimenting with WordPress

Launching a new website is a real adventure. There are so many things to plan and implement:

  • SEO strategy
  • Branding
  • Tree structure
  • Technical side
  • Content
  • Marketing
  • Upgrading
  • Monetizing

I could talk about it for hours.

For example, for WPTurbo, I decided to put Elementor aside and work solely in Full Site Editing with the Frost theme.

Even if the design took more time, it was exciting. And I’m delighted with the final result.

WPTurbo provides WordPress developers with code generators.
For the curious, the logo was designed with Logology (affiliate link).

The style is a bit aggressive, but it’s voluntary. The idea is to stand out from the competition.

3. Add a new source of revenue

I told you above, in order not to end up in underwear, you should not go it alone.

The other thing to consider is to have enough ammunition and rations to last in the long run (not 3/4 days 😅).

In business, this equates to cash flow. If a company is strong enough, it can afford to expand into new markets.

With WPTurbo, the goal is twofold. The goal is to generate revenue from an international audience (the majority of WPMarmite’s revenue comes from France).

In these times, being less dependent on the French market seems to me to be a good choice (and a good opportunity).

The future of WPTurbo

By offering more than 40 free code generators for WordPress, we hope to help a maximum of WordPress developers in their work.

Now, we must not stop here. We have plenty of ideas to carry out WPTurbo’s mission of saving developers’ time.

Here’s what we plan to do in the coming weeks:

  • Create new generators to exceed the 50 mark and target specific needs (you can suggest some in comments).
  • Propose a Pro offer to benefit from exclusive features (private snippets registration, default generators settings, etc.).
  • Publish other resources related to WordPress development (not just blog posts).

Nevertheless, we will have to work on the marketing and SEO of the website, as well as on the acquisition of users (anyone can create a free account on WPTurbo), then on the conversion to the Pro offer.

I can tell you that there is a lot of work to be done, but it looks like an exciting adventure!

Anyway, I’m curious to know what you think about it.

Tell me all about it in comments. 😉

And if you’re a developer (or want to become one), try WPTurbo to launch your next website!
