“Hi, I need 200 units of this product with fast shipping please”. As an online store owner, receiving this kind of message puts a smile on your face. Answering it, on the other hand, becomes a lot less fun…

Basically, you have to respond by email, cobble together a price by hand – a bulk order deserves a discount, after all – and cross your fingers you don’t mess up the invoice. All while watching the clock tick away at breakneck speed

A woman saying "There are so many things to do".
That’s quite a lot to handle, indeed.

Does this scene sound familiar? You’re not alone. WooCommerce was never designed to handle this type of request, and every business order turns into an improvised mini-mission.

Fortunately, some plugins have sniffed out the opportunity and set out to fill this gap. One of the most popular among them is called B2BKing.

Its concept? Turning your store into a true B2B platform (or a hybrid B2B/B2C one), without switching CMS or juggling ten different plugins.

In this complete review, we put this plugin through its paces. You’ll discover its main features, how easy it is to get to grips with, its pricing, and its limits. Not forgetting our frank opinion on whether it deserves a spot on your WooCommerce store.

Alright, enough improvising: find out right away whether B2BKing can turn our opening mini-mission into a simple formality!

What is B2BKing?

Overview of B2BKing

The homepage of the B2BKing website.

B2BKing is a freemium WordPress plugin that lets you turn a standard WooCommerce store into a B2B sales platform or a hybrid B2B/B2C one, without switching CMS or e-commerce solution.

A quick note on business jargon for the uninitiated. B2B (Business to business) refers to commercial transactions carried out between companies. When we talk about B2C (Business to consumer), we’re referring to companies that sell only to individuals.
A hybrid approach (selling both B2B and B2C) is possible with B2BKing, which lets you manage this scenario without having to create two separate WooCommerce sites.

Launched in 2020, the plugin is developed by Kingtech LLC, a software company based in the United States and specializing in WooCommerce solutions for businesses, according to the company’s About page.

On its official website, the publisher describes its plugin as the “#1 B2B & Wholesale solution for WooCommerce”.

A promise to take with the usual grain of salt for this type of marketing phrase, but one backed up by concrete arguments:

  • the plugin claims more than 15,000 active stores in around a hundred countries,
  • its overall rating on the official WordPress repository is excellent (4.9/5, based on more than 100 reviews at the time of writing),
  • B2BKing packs in more than 130 built-in features within a single plugin.

In practice, B2BKing installs just like any other WordPress plugin, then layers itself on top of your existing WooCommerce setup.

It handles business accounts, custom pricing, tiered pricing structures, VAT, bulk order forms, the ability to link multiple buyers to the same account, custom quotes, and plenty of other building blocks we’ll detail further down.

For reference, Kingtech LLC also sells other solutions for WooCommerce, such as plugins for setting up a marketplace (MarketKing) or for managing a sales team, sales agents, or representatives (SalesKing).

Why use a WooCommerce plugin dedicated to B2B?

Business buyers with specific needs

Like everyone else, you’ve probably already paid a visit to the well-known wholesale retailer Costco, thanks to a friend’s or acquaintance’s membership card. A little trick that has its perks, sometimes (yum) ^^.

So you may also know that, in practice, B2B selling follows very different rules from standard B2C selling.

A business customer doesn’t buy the way an individual does. They order in bulk, sometimes negotiate their pricing, often pay on 30, 60, or 90-day terms, and need to be able to delegate purchases to several team members.

WooCommerce, in its standard version, doesn’t offer any of these options. So what do you do when you need them?

WooCommerce homepage.

The native limits of WooCommerce

Follow our gaze: you install five, six, or ten different plugins to get these features.

Or, if you’re the type who’s comfortable (and skilled) with code, you cobble together solutions by hand (promo codes, manual emails, Excel files).

Problem: this quickly becomes time-consuming and error-prone as volume increases.

With a specialized plugin like B2BKing, you can structure your needs within a single interface, rather than juggling several disparate tools.

Another important point: most “all-in-one” B2B solutions on the market are closed SaaS platforms, billed at several hundred euros a month.

B2BKing, on the other hand, installs on your own WordPress hosting and leaves you the owner of your data and your code.

Is that clearer now? Let’s take a look at what B2BKing offers once it’s installed on your store.

What are B2BKing’s main features?

Nearly 140 features on offer

On its official website, B2BKing presents itself as a tool designed “to tackle every specific challenge of B2B e-commerce.”

To enrich WooCommerce’s native offering, it states that it introduces “a wide range of new features.”

And we can confirm, there’s a whole bunch of them. Nearly 140 in total. Serious stuff! To sum it all up, keep in mind that the B2BKing e-commerce plugin offers several major families of features:

  • advanced management of B2B customers
  • custom pricing and dynamic discounts
  • a true catalog dedicated to business customers
  • more complete B2B registration
  • VAT and tax management
  • advanced business rules
  • payment on invoice and differentiated payment methods.

A closer look at some of B2BKing’s useful options

That’s the general overview. Rather than listing every single feature in detail, here’s a rundown of the ones we think are most useful – free and paid – for a B2B or hybrid B2B+B2C store:

  • business account management: B2B registration forms kept separate from the standard B2C form, with manual or automatic validation of new accounts,
  • differentiated dynamic pricing: the ability to display prices, discounts, and other taxes specific to a user, a customer group, or a product category. You can also create deals and bundles for specific users or groups,
  • tiered pricing: a price table that automatically appears on the product page and updates as soon as the buyer increases the quantity,
  • hiding prices and products: the ability to hide pricing (and even the entire catalog) from logged-out visitors, to reserve access to validated B2B accounts only,
  • wholesale order form: an optimized order table for quickly adding several products and quantities to the cart, without browsing page by page,
  • built-in messaging system: for handling inquiries,
  • exchanges and negotiations with customers (e.g., quote requests),
  • adding custom fields to registration, billing, and order forms, with, for example, custom registration roles (e.g., factory, reseller, B2B) and automatic or manual validation for each role,
  • multi-user accounts: a “company” account can host several team members with different permissions (one employee prepares the order, a manager approves it),
  • company registration: the ability to create custom fields for registration, billing, and payment,
  • VAT and tax exemption management: automatic exemption for B2B customers with a valid intra-EU VAT number, with VIES validation
  • pay-by-invoice gateway: your business customers can order with deferred payment terms, rather than paying immediately by card.
Some of the options offered by B2BKing.

Let’s say it again: this list offers a non-exhaustive overview of the full range of possibilities.

The plugin also offers a “private catalog” mode, dynamic free-shipping rules, and even a mini-CRM to track your business accounts.

In other words, there’s more than enough to cover almost all the needs of a wholesale store. Now that we’ve laid out this overview of features, a question naturally arises: who is this plugin really for?

Who is B2BKing for?

B2BKing primarily targets WooCommerce stores that sell (or want to sell) to other businesses.

The company behind the plugin says a bit more on its website, stating the following: “B2BKing is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the developers who work with them.”

In practice, and after testing the plugin, we’ve identified several typical user profiles:

  • wholesalers and manufacturers who sell to resellers or distributors, and who need different pricing depending on the volume ordered,
  • hybrid B2B+B2C stores. You’re clearly the target audience if you already sell to the general public but want to open up a “secret zone” reserved for business customers, without changing the experience for your individual customers (all while keeping a single WooCommerce store),
  • WordPress agencies and developers who need to deliver complete B2B stores to their clients, without piling up third-party plugins,
  • brands running a “private store”: some companies want their entire catalog to stay invisible to the public, and only allow access to validated business accounts.
Social proof around B2BKing.

Note that B2BKing remains relevant even if your B2B activity is still modest. The hybrid mode lets you get started gently: you enable B2B features progressively, without disrupting your existing B2C store or its SEO.

Conversely, if your only need is to display a different wholesale price depending on the user role, a much lighter plugin may sometimes be enough.

To really understand whether this plugin is right for you, you also need to know whether it’s easy to install and get to grips with! Find out all about that in the next section.

Installing and getting started with B2BKing: is it an easy plugin to use?

Installing B2BKing

To start, know that B2BKing needs one particular partner in order to work. Its name? WooCommerce.

To install and configure WooCommerce, check out the complete guide we’ve dedicated to the king of e-commerce plugins. Once WooCommerce is active on your installation, you’ll of course need to add a few products to your store, that goes without saying. 😉

Next, it’s time for B2BKing. And here, nothing too complicated. Its installation follows the standard process for any premium WordPress plugin:

  • you download the .zip file from your customer account,
  • you install it via Plugins > Add Plugins > Upload Plugin on your WordPress dashboard. B2BKing will then take care of installing and activating the B2BKing Core plugin as well, which contains the core of the plugin’s features.

A license then needs to be activated to unlock updates and support.

Activating a B2BKing license.

No special technical steps are required. The plugin integrates directly with WooCommerce without altering your store’s structure.

In practice, the publisher also offers a free (“Lite”) version on WordPress.org, which lets you test the basics (customer groups, simplified pricing) before switching to the full version if your needs justify it.

A dense but coherent interface

Once activated, B2BKing adds a dedicated menu to your dashboard, with 13 submenus:

  • Dashboard,
  • Settings,
  • Groups,
  • Group rules,
  • Customers,
  • Reports,
  • Conversations,
  • Offers,
  • Dynamic rules,
  • Registration roles,
  • Registration fields,
  • Tools,
  • Early Access.
B2BKing's settings menu.

As you can see, not all the submenu labels are self-explanatory, and some of them aren’t always very clear at first glance.

So you’ll need to poke around a bit in each section to see what’s what. And with 13 main menus, that’s already quite a lot.

This is the main thing to watch out for: with more than 130 features, B2BKing’s interface can feel dense the first time you log in.

Let’s be clear: at first glance, this abundance can be a bit overwhelming.

If you’re just starting out with WooCommerce, you’ll probably need a bit of time to adjust.

On the other hand, if you’ve already managed a business store, you’ll quickly find your bearings.

The organization of the settings remains logical: features are grouped by theme, which makes it easier to discover them gradually.

In use, each module works independently: you only enable the features you need (for example, just the registration fields) and can ignore the rest until you actually need it.

But before we get into more detail on that, it’s essential to go through some basic configuration of the plugin. In short: laying the foundations so you can build cleanly and solidly on top of them.

How to configure the B2BKing plugin on your WooCommerce store?

With B2BKing, rest assured you won’t be flying blind. Once activated, the plugin greets you with a setup wizard that points you toward the settings worth configuring.

Let’s go over that together.

B2BKing's setup wizard.

Choosing your store type

To get started, select the type of store you have, under B2BKing > Settings > Main Settings. You have two options to choose from:

  1. Hybrid B2B and B2C: selling to both individuals and businesses.
  2. B2B Store: if all your customers are businesses.
B2BKing's main settings for WooCommerce.

Here’s what B2BKing says about this setting: “The key difference: in hybrid mode, B2C customers won’t see B2B-specific features, such as the wholesale order form or conversations, in their ‘My Account’ area. B2B users, on the other hand, see everything.”

Enabling/Disabling features

Still in the same menu, you can choose to enable or disable the options that appear in the “B2BKing” menu.

Simply choose the ones you plan to use, or not.

B2BKing store features.

Configuring user access restrictions

Next, you can choose to configure access restrictions for visitors who aren’t logged in to your site.

This happens in the B2BKing > Settings > Access Restrictions menu. Five options are available:

  1. Nothing (no restrictions).
  2. Hide prices: your products remain visible, but prices are hidden until the user logs in.
  3. Hide store and products. Your store isn’t accessible if you don’t have a user account.
  4. Hide website/Force login: you’re redirected to a login page as a guest.
  5. Replace prices with “Request a quote”: a logged-out visitor can’t buy a product directly. They can only request a quote.
B2BKing access restrictions.

Sorting users into groups

Here, the B2BKing team simply calls this a “fundamental step.” Don’t skip it, because most of the plugin’s features depend on the groups you’re going to create.

A user’s group determines, for example, their pricing, the available payment methods, and so on.

To create your groups, head to the B2BKing > Groups menu. You can then set up:

  • business groups (e.g., Suppliers),
  • B2C groups.

You can then assign users to groups on each user’s profile page.

Creating groups in B2BKing.

Other settings options

With that, you’re already well set up. Know that, on a case-by-case basis, you can go much further by configuring, for example:

  • displaying a “Request a custom quote” button on the Cart page (for B2B, B2C, or guest users, or everyone). To do this, go to B2BKing > Settings > Quotes & Offers
  • your product visibility, to hide certain products or categories from specific groups or users. For example, you might want items reserved for wholesale to be visible only to your “Distributors” group. This is done in B2BKing > Access Restrictions > Product & Category Visibility. This can even let you make your store “private,” with no prices displayed (requiring a quote request to see them):
  • tiered pricing and pricing tables (in B2BKing > Settings > Tiered Pricing). For example, you can replace a product’s standard price with a tiered price range (min-max).

If needed, you can also translate certain text messages that will appear on your pages, in B2BKing > Settings > Language and Text.

Language and Text settings in the B2BKing plugin.

Beyond these secondary yet crucial settings, some of B2BKing’s features deserve a closer look, since they can transform the way you manage your business customers. Let’s shine a light on 6 of them.

B2BKing’s secret weapons: 6 features you shouldn’t miss

Wholesale order form

Let’s start with one of the most useful features for your wholesale customers: the wholesale order form.

It’s a dedicated page that displays your catalog as a table, with a quantity field for each product.

A preview of B2BKing's wholesale order form.

Rather than browsing page by page, your business buyer builds their order in just a few clicks, filtering by category or searching for a product by its SKU (a product’s unique identifier), with the subtotal calculated instantly.

In practice, this table stays smooth even with a large catalog, thanks to asynchronous (AJAX) loading that avoids reloading the page with every addition.

It’s one of the features wholesale stores appreciate most, since it recreates the experience of a paper order form, but in a digital and instant version.

By default, the form is added to every “My Account” page, but you can also use a shortcode to embed it within any page of your choice.

If you have customers in a hurry who know exactly what they want, B2BKing also lets you place a quick order by uploading a CSV file containing the SKU of each product and the desired quantity.

Conversations

Blah blah, blah blah, blah blah: if your customers like to chat with you, B2BKing has just what you need to keep them happy.

The plugin includes a messaging system linked directly to each customer account. In practice, your business buyers can message you from their “My Account” page to ask about a product, an ongoing order, or a price, without going through a generic contact form or email.

B2BKing's Conversations menu.

This “Conversations” feature centralizes exchanges in the same place as the rest of the business relationship: you can find a customer’s complete history directly from their profile, while also being notified by email of new messages.

Speaking of customer relationship management, know that B2BKing includes a mini CRM that holds the information shared by your customers (name, company, customer group, total spend, etc.). This option is accessible under B2BKing > Customers.

Deals and bulk purchases

Want to offer discounts and bundle deals? B2BKing’s “Offers” option is there for that.

Thanks to it, you can, for example, create deals and bundles for specific users or groups, each with its own specific pricing.

Offers appear in the “My Account” section for each user and can be added to the cart and purchased immediately.

To create an offer, go to the B2BKing > Offers > Create an Offer menu. Enter a name for your offer and configure the settings of your choice. For example, you can:

  • select which customer group can see this offer
  • define which type of user can view the offer
  • add custom text
  • enable or disable the offer.
Creating an offer in B2BKing.

Adding dynamic rules

Let’s move on to dynamic rules. They’re the personalization engine behind B2BKing.

In practice, they let you define specific settings or conditions for particular users, groups, or products.

Thanks to them, you can offer discounts, hide prices, set minimum order quantities, exempt certain users from taxes, offer free shipping, and so on.

For example, you can create a rule that automatically applies a 15% discount to your “Resellers” group whenever an order exceeds $500.

Note that these rules can be combined with each other, which opens the door to fairly sophisticated pricing scenarios, without having to touch a single line of code.

To take advantage of this option, head to the B2BKing > Dynamic Rules > Create New Rule menu.

Creating a dynamic rule in B2BKing.

Custom fields

Alongside this, B2BKing offers a powerful extended registration feature that lets you configure several options at two main levels:

  1. Registration Roles (menu B2BKing > Registration Roles): these are the registration options customers can sign up for (e.g., factory, reseller, B2B, etc.). You can require automatic approval, or not.
  2. Registration Fields (menu B2BKing > Registration Fields) that you can add to registration, billing, and order forms (name, phone, email, date, file upload, etc.). These are the fields associated with each registration option. You can make them mandatory or optional, and choose whether they appear for all users or only for your B2B groups.
Adding a custom field in B2BKing.

Sub-accounts

Within a company, purchasing is rarely down to just one person. That’s exactly what B2BKing accounts for with sub-accounts: a main “Company” account can host several team members, each with their own login credentials and their own permissions (placing orders, viewing orders, viewing conversations, etc).

To add or remove a sub-account, simply go to your “My Account” page, in the “Sub-accounts” menu:

Adding a subaccount in the B2BKing interface.

All the features presented above look solid on paper. But what happens if you run into a configuration issue? We’ll tell you more in the next section.

Support and assistance

On a plugin this packed with features, the quality of technical support becomes a criterion almost as important as the features themselves.

And this is precisely one of the strengths regularly highlighted by B2BKing users.

In concrete terms, how does it work if you need help? The plugin’s team can first be reached directly via a ticketing system. You send them a message with your request or issue, and they generally respond within 24 hours.

However, it’s stated that B2BKing’s support is inactive on weekends and public holidays.

If you’d like to try to find a solution to a problem on your own, you can rely on:

Note, however, one thing worth keeping in mind: documentation and support are only offered in English.

The plugin itself is translated into several languages (including French), but for a specific technical ticket, expect to communicate in English with the support team.

B2BKing documentation

How much does B2BKing cost?

Without further ado, let’s now tackle the question of pricing. B2BKing runs on an annual license model, with a lifetime license option also available.

The plugin offers a free version (Lite), available on WordPress.org, which covers the basic features (customer groups, simplified pricing) and is a good way to test the approach before investing in the full version.

For the full version, the publisher offers several tiers, structured by number of sites. Each license includes all the features offered by the plugin (nearly 140 in total):

  • “Startup” license (for use on 1 site): $299.50/year (excluding promotions).
  • “Pro” license (up to 3 sites): $449.50/year, including additional modules.
  • “Developer” license (unlimited sites): $599.50/year, with the additional option to white-label B2BKing’s back office.
  • Lifetime license: available on every license tier, starting at $1,549 (excluding promotions), which lets you permanently eliminate annual renewal fees.
B2BKing pricing by license.

Note that a 14-day money-back guarantee is also offered when you subscribe to the plugin.

To put this budget into perspective: compared to a SaaS-based B2B solution, whose monthly subscription can easily exceed several hundred euros, B2BKing’s pricing remains reasonable over time, especially with the lifetime option.

That said, the cost for multiple sites or an agency-level license can represent a significant budget for a small business just starting out.

Now that we’ve covered the budget, and to really understand B2BKing’s place in the market, it’s worth briefly comparing it to the main alternatives available for WooCommerce.

What are the alternatives to B2BKing?

In a sector as competitive as e-commerce, you can probably guess that B2BKing isn’t the only B2B solution for WooCommerce.

Other competitors face off against it on the market, each with its own particular strengths.

Among the most well-known, we can list, for example:

  • Wholesale Suite: a suite of several separate plugins (wholesale pricing, order form, registration), sold individually or as a bundle. Its modular approach can work well if you only want to enable certain building blocks, but it means installing several plugins to cover the same scope that B2BKing offers in a single plugin,
  • WholesaleX: a more recent alternative on the market, which also brings together pricing, registration, quotes, and a digital wallet system in a single module, with pricing positioned close to B2BKing’s,
  • Wholesale Pricing for WooCommerce : to encourage your customers to buy more by offering tiered pricing based on quantity (among other things).
The Wholesale Suite plugin.

If you want to dig a bit deeper into the “competition” angle, B2BKing offers content comparing itself to Wholesale Suite and WholesaleX. This can give you more precise information about the features offered by one plugin or another.

But take this with at least a bit of distance and perspective: you’ll only be getting B2BKing’s (well-intentioned) point of view. Don’t hesitate to check out each tool’s own presentation page to see whether it can meet your needs.

After this complete overview, it’s time to sum up our opinion on B2BKing.

Our final opinion on B2BKing

Advantages of B2BKing

  • Very broad functional coverage: advanced pricing management, customer groups, quotes, multi-user accounts, VAT, wholesale order form, flexible business rules, etc.
Almost all B2B needs are brought together in a single plugin, which integrates perfectly with WooCommerce.
  • A well-designed hybrid B2B+B2C mode, which lets you open up a wholesale business without disrupting an existing B2C store.
  • A scalable plugin, capable of adapting to changes and transformations in your store (e.g., adding a B2B or B2C group).
  • Well-regarded technical support, confirmed by numerous independent reviews, with fairly quick response times.
  • Appreciable pricing flexibility, with several license tiers and a lifetime option if you want to avoid recurring renewals.
  • Regular updates, with a version history that shows active, ongoing development over several years.
  • Rich, well-designed documentation.

Limitations of B2BKing

  • A dense interface at the start, which requires some time to adjust before you feel fully comfortable, especially if you’re discovering the world of B2B for the first time.
  • A learning curve to expect in order to understand and master all the subtleties of the plugin.
  • Support and documentation available only in English, which can be a (slight) drawback if you’re not fully comfortable with the language.
  • A budget that climbs quickly beyond a single site, particularly for agencies managing several client stores.
  • No trial period on the paid version: only the free Lite version (with limited features) or an online demo let you test the plugin before buying.

WPMarmite’s opinion

In our view, B2BKing remains a serious, comprehensive option if you want to add a B2B dimension to your WooCommerce store.

During our test, we especially appreciated its functional richness and its “all-in-one” approach, which brings real coherence to managing a B2B-oriented WooCommerce store.

That said, keep in mind that this abundance of options also has a downside. Take the time to clearly identify your real needs before diving in, rather than enabling every available option right from the start.

If your store is just starting out with wholesale activity, it probably doesn’t need the plugin’s most advanced features right away.

On the other hand, if you’re already receiving regular business inquiries, or if you’re seriously considering developing a wholesale business, B2BKing provides a solid foundation for structuring this transition, provided you accept an initial learning phase and budget accordingly.
